The Cosy Edit

One of the reasons I do my Edit on a Monday is to (hopefully) bring a little bit of joy, colour and inspiration to a scroll, on what can feel like the most joyless day of the week. I’m keen to give Mondays a bit of a ‘rebrand’!

It’s also a good day to set intentions for the week, get into a new groove and start planning fabulous things (and treats) for the next weekend.

I try to keep as much of a joyful vibe as I can throughout the week by planning, looking for inspiration in lots of places, and as I go about getting things done, like we all have to do – work, family, running a house, so I’m always looking for ways to unearth and create little joyful moments and put some magic into the mundane.

One of the things I absolutely love about this time of year is the nights drawing in and making evenings all about wind-down rituals.

Maybe it’s the age I am, but when I hit my 50s, I became obsessed with sleep. I celebrated my 50th with a trip to New York to stay in a hotel that specialises in sleep rituals,
The Equinox Hudson Yards. I literally went to the city that never sleeps, to sleep…

Also around that time, a client gave me the
Sleepy lotion from Lush and oh my goodness, that is a gamechanger when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep. It’s in my top 10 products of all time – I’m borderline evangelical about it and it’s a staple part of my wind down.

Candles, cosy throws, glowy lamps, bubble baths, books, herbal tea, squares of dark chocolate and all those little self-care rituals are what I look forward to every single day and keep my mind, body and soul nourished, replenished, calm and able to navigate the day to day.
