Kitchen Disco
Autumn really is the season when homebodies come into their own, and honestly, looking at everyone’s content right now just feels like an enormous hug. It’s so lovely.
One of the rooms that my husband and I spend the most time in when the nights draw in is our kitchen, particularly at weekends because, being a certified homebody, I’m very much ‘Why go out when we can stay in?’, so I designed the kitchen to be like our very own bar/restaurant/kitchen disco – bright, stimulating and fun with an upbeat, joyful mood.
Just about everything in this week’s edit is somewhere in my kitchen, except the Pikes picture. That’s in my utility room to give me fun flashbacks during never-decreasing piles of washing.
I am all for putting the kitsch into kitchen…
I also make a different playlist every week, with soulful, discoey, funky vibes, which is a joy as much as a necessity (my husband would have us listening to The Stone Roses and Bob Dylan all night – no offence to either but you’re not coming to my kitchen disco…).
I hope you enjoy browsing this week’s edit and it inspires you to go on date nights indoors, eat fried chicken washed down with champagne, dance like you’re in your very own Studio 54, and party like it’s 1979…
