Garden Room Retreat

A private members’ club for two, tucked away at the end of the garden.

Designed as a place where my husband and I can feel like we’re out, without ever really leaving home.

The Hideaway is about atmosphere, mood and a sense of occasion. A space to close the door, pour a drink, put music on and shift into a different rhythm away from whatever’s happening in the house.

The look blends mid-century shapes with subtle colonial influences - rich, deep, inky walls, warm cognac leather, dark wood, brass accents and layered textures.

A gently uplifting biophilic thread runs through the interior - greenery, natural materials and views out to the landscape softening the darker palette and keeping the space fresh and alive.

It’s cocooning without being heavy, grown-up but playful and decadently transportive.

Part study, part snug, part Friday 5 pm cocktail lounge, it’s a room designed for evenings as much as days - a retreat that feels indulgent, intimate and escapist, just a few steps from the house.
