A private members’ club for two, tucked away at the end of the garden.

Starting with a completely blank canvas, I wanted to create a place where my husband and I could feel like we were out, without ever really leaving home.

The Hideaway is all about atmosphere, mood and a sense of occasion. A space to close the door, pour a drink, put music on and shift into a different rhythm away from whatever’s happening in the house.

The look blends mid-century shapes with subtle colonial influences: rich, deep, inky walls, warm cognac leather, dark wood, brass accents and layered textures.

A gently uplifting biophilic thread runs through the interior, with greenery, natural materials and views out to the landscape softening the darker palette and keeping the space fresh and alive.

It’s cocooning without being heavy, grown-up but playful and decadently transportive.

Part study, part snug, part Friday 5pm cocktail lounge, it’s a room designed for evenings as much as days: a retreat that feels indulgent, intimate and escapist, just a few steps from the house.
