Coastal Grandmother

For this week’s Edit, I’ve gone for a ‘Coastal Grandmother’ vibe.

It was the ‘thing’ in summer 2022, the term used to describe a typical female character in a Nancy Meyers movie, like Diane Keaton in Something’s Gotta Give, Meryl Streep in It’s Complicated, or celebs like Martha Stewart.

More of a breezy, barefoot nod to beach days than your classic blue and white nautical feel, one you can totally lean into even if you’re nowhere near the sea.

It’s inspired by the soft, quiet stillness that lingers in August, when the tide of summer begins to turn, the feeling of change drifts in the breeze, and the sun starts to dip beyond the ocean a little bit earlier.

It’s Martha’s Vineyard with a gentle, granny-chic twist - scalloped lampshades, jute textures, shell dishes and a chair made for morning coffee, cosy reading and breezy daydreams. breezy daydreams.
